Ever played a game on the hardest difficulty and beat it? Sure, we’ve all done it at some point, even if it was just one game you practiced and perfected over a long period of time. No one just picks up the game and immediately memorizes the patterns. The path to perfecting a game is, for many gamers like myself, an exciting challenge; one that forces us to become the bitch of the proverbial game-over screen, again and again. Eventually, we psychopathic gamers accept the game-over screen as a discipline paddle, and each time the failure occurs, we rise up and begin anew from stage one.

 

With that said, here’s a little something I put together for fun—my attempt at beating Jamestown’s gauntlet-mode on divine-mode. This game, in particular, is one of my favorite games in the past two years for capturing the true essence of hardcore-gaming. I can promise you a very special ending, so enjoy:
