Ura Zelda Project Update Brought to you by Hard4Games and the URA Team!
In this Ura Zelda Project Update you'll be informed on the latest and greatest Zethn64 and his team have to offer!
So it's been a while since we've been updated on the Ura Project! The most recent official video update being the following:
The footage looks awesome, though for me it functions as a tease. I'm dying to see what's inside. In addition to this, Zeth has given us some fortunate/unfortunate news (depending how you look at it). The team posed the following to the community:
According to Zeth:
'First and foremost, I brought forth a question to the community about getting their opinion on what we should do for direction.
1) Keep the old OOT dungeons and add only the few new ones.
2) Remove the old OOT dungeons and give brand new dungeons entirely.
Out of almost 70 votes, 47 people voted to make brand new dungeons entirely. So we had to adjust the story to compensate along with a new dungeon roster. Later on in a translated interview with Miyamoto I found, Miyamoto states that URA Zelda was to be like a parody of OOT with brand new dungeons entirely. He never said altered, changed, moved around, he said brand new dungeons.'
So unfortunately there will be further delay, however the team is now building a completely new set of dungeons, which will really allow them to flex their creative muscle. Additionally, it will allow a truly brand new Zelda experience.
The revamped dungeon list is as follows:
~Young Hero Dungeons~
DeepWood Shrine
Turtle Rock Cavern
Lakebed Grotto
Temple of Light
~Adult Hero Dungeons~
Temple of Darkness
Earth Temple
Ice Temple
Wind Temple
Marsh Temple
Temple of Souls
~Last Dungeons~
Tower of Fate
Pyramid of Power
With a new story that now goes as follows:
'The Legend begins, the Hero of Time fought bravely against the King of Evil, Ganondorf and with Princess Zelda's help, sealed him away into the dark void of the Sacred Realm. With the Hero of Time's mission completed, Zelda sent him back to his own time so he could regain the time he lost due to these unpredictable events. It has been 3 years since Zelda sent him back. Hyrule has begun to recover from its wounds and the people once again prosper. Suddenly, dark visions begin to plague the princess' dreams of Hyrule being covered again in darkness, until suddenly, a ray of light shot from the sky, a Hero descending into their world and parting the dark clouds. The dream had been too vaguely familiar to what had started the events those 10 years ago. The princess could hope that this hero could fight as valiantly as the Hero of Time did. The Hero of Light, guided by the hand of the goddesses into the land of Hyrule, must now go on a journey to save Hyrule and correct a mistake that was made 10 years ago.'
Until the next update, here are some new images of Castle Town to tide everyone over. As you may recall, part of the goal of the Ura Project was to eliminate the pre-rendered 2-D backgrounds from OoT. So far these ilocations are looking great!
